Heimdal officially launched Direct Air Capture (DAC) operations today (August 13, 2024) at the Project Bantam facility built on-site at CapturePoint’s Oklahoma Carbon Hub in Osage County near Shidler, Oklahoma. Bantam is now the largest constructed DAC facility in the U.S., with the capacity to capture more than 5,000 metric tons of CO2 annually from the atmosphere when fully operational. With the startup of Bantam, the Oklahoma Carbon Hub achieved the distinction of being the world’s first multi-modal carbon management site, bringing together: CO2 captured from CVR Partners’ Fertilizer Plant in Coffeyville, Kansas; extensive on-site CO2-EOR operations in the historic North Burbank Unit; Heimdal’s Project Bantam on-site DAC facility; and a pending permit application to construct a regional deep underground carbon storage site.
