Climeworks, a world leader in commercial-scale Direct Air Capture (DAC) of CO2 and developer of “Mammoth,” the world’s largest DAC facility launched in May 2024 in Iceland, announced today that they will partner with CapturePoint Solutions to take the CO2 captured from the two Project Cypress facilities planned for Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana for transport to permanent deep underground storage in the Central Louisiana Regional Carbon Storage Hub (CENLA Hub). When both SW Louisiana Project Cypress DAC facilities are complete, Climeworks expects to capture 1.3 million metric tons of CO2 annually.
