At four sites in the southern and western United States, CPS is in the early stages of evaluation and development of potentially expansive carbon storage centers totaling over 230,000 acres of deep underground geologic carbon storage space.
CPS Colorado West
- Rio Blanco County, in central western Colorado
- Rights to ~155,000 acres of deep underground carbon storage
- In early phases of development and evaluation
CPS New Mexico Southeast
- Lea County, in the Southeastern corner of New Mexico near the West Texas border
- Rights to ~17,500 acres of deep underground carbon storage
- In early phases of development and evaluation
CPS South Delta
- Sharkey County, Mississippi
- The proposal could ultimately include 5,000 acres or more of deep underground carbon storage to service industrial emitters in central Mississippi
- In a unique community partnership, an initial 1,280 acres of deep underground geologic storage were leased in 2022 under lands held to benefit local public school district students
- A devastating tornado outbreak struck Rolling Fork, Mississippi on the evening of March 24, 2023, and CPS community engagement efforts were redirected to support recovery efforts following the deadly storms
- CPS currently intends to resume project development and evaluation activities after the community and school district achieve sustainable progress in rebuilding
CPS Wyoming Central
- Fremont County, in central Wyoming
- Rights to ~57,000 acres deep underground carbon storage
- In early phases of development and evaluation
Each site is being evaluated for the potential to collect CO2 from industrial emitters in the surrounding regions. Please note that because each of the projects included on this page is in the earliest phases of evaluation and development, the attention of potential investment partners is directed to the standard CapturePoint forward-looking cautions.
